Marcus McNeil
Why not go after him the chargers have him Tendered for a 1st and 3rd round pick. Why not risk it the guy is a very good LT and would be a huge benefit for us.
I am trying to get what some of you think yeah I know the asking price is high but we have two 2nd round picks and not sure how many 3rd rounders but isn't worth the shot? |

RE: Marcus McNeil
Honestly, I don't think he's worth it. For a first and a third we could seriously bolster the middle of our defense or get Cassel both upgraded protection and a new target to throw to.

RE: Marcus McNeil
yeah but with everybody whining about how weak the OL prospects are i figured maybe we could look at this. Also there is a chance too maybe we can trade for him if he does sign back with the Chargers for a future prospect instead of giving up our 1st and 3rd. As soon as we landed Cassel last year we should have spent our 1st round pick on OL but we didn't. And now again this year the talk is lets get Berry or some other .. we don't need D in the 1st round this year.. we need an OL guy. And if we skipped on OL then damn sure we better get McClain over Berry because LB is a weaker spot considering we do have Page coming back.

RE: Marcus McNeil
If I was the Redskins,I'd focus on a quarterback first and foremost. They kept Campbell once before and it didn't pan out.I don't think they'll make that mistake again. Both of those choices sound good although the choice for quarterback might surprise a little.

RE: Marcus McNeil
Hey augustsalbert - Welcome!!
I see quite a bit of the Redskins as they are local. You have a good point regarding Shanahan's tradition: The franchise QB -- He did great with Elway - and then decent with his successors as they remained a competitive team but not a SB contender... The issue - from what I have seen - is that Campbell is not all that bad: He has had some decent games - along with a terrible surrounding cast and coaching issues - The coaches and Offense was a veritable carrousel with the consistent changes... I think Campbell does need a consistent QB coach - his numbers and performance are not all that bad. Shanahan may have come to see that. Nonetheless, if Bradford falls to #4 (unlikely) I would have to believe this is a done deal for the Redskins; if not, Claussen may be an option - but I think they are looking at a franchise OT or possibly DT... This is my assessment to go along with their offseason moves... |
