RE: A Bit of a Bother...
Hey guys.. I was transplanted July 9!!!
I'm doing very well! The Docs call me a "Rock Star"! I spent one day in ICU, then six in the step-down unit, and now I'm staying at the Hilton KCI for labs, etc.... God is awesome! I give Him all the Glory!!! Eat whatever I want. My daughter is staying with me... I'll be here for a week, then home sweet home! Thanks for your prayers and encouragement! |

RE: A Bit of a Bother...
way to go, bubba.
Just in time for training camp. Quitters never win. Winners never quit. But those who never win and never quit are idiots.

RE: A Bit of a Bother...
Way to go O.C.!!! Wish you told us!!! Thank God - this is FANTASTIC!!
This also is funny, O.C. - because a few hours ago, my Mom was asking me about you and how you are doing, as she has been praying for you... I told her that they got "Little Al", and you are awaiting the transplant. I will bring her "up to speed" immediately! This really makes my weekend!!! - plus the fact that my wife is in Miami for a long weekend cruise - so I have my liberty!!!! Well, not exactly, I do miss her company - and she cooks really well. She went on a 4-day/3-night cruise to the Bahamas with five of her friends - All happily married. They should have a great time!! Tell your daughter we are all praying for you guys - and we are certain she is better looking than you!!! That is great that she is staying with you... So you are ready for Training Camp - What position are you looking at...?!!! To be serious, O.,C. -- Give us the scoop as to the "prognosis and process" forward. What are the "milestones" and "indicators" that you need to be aware of? -- And when are you pretty much "in the clear"...? |

RE: A Bit of a Bother...
Thanks VA, Smooth,
All I know is I'm doing great, just have to work on healing and building strength. I traded a terminal disease for chromic immunosupression, so there will always be some risk. But with common sense and My lord there's every reason to expect many years ahead!!! I'll have twice weekly lab, then evntually to once a month, medication adjustment will be on-going according to the lab results. All of my numbers are swell, praise God! I have to watch out for the sun, sneezers, and coughers, but that's no hill for a stepper! I don't know about TC... That might be a bit soon for me strngth-wise and immuno-wise. My case has exceeded expectations for avg liver transplnt. I give God all of the Glory! I just showed up when they called! |

O.C.!! I'm celebrating for you!! This is ALL great news!!
I know you can't drink, so I am having a 1999 single barrel bourbon on the rocks!! I normally do single malt, but today was a down-home bourbon day!! |
